Preparing the shop box – part 3: lighting

With the arrival of my beautiful lights, I was able to finish the main part of the shop box last weekend. The lights came with an adhesive pad, so I could simply stick them to the ceiling then run their attached twin wires along the groove that I had made in the ceiling. A small notch, cut into the very edge of the ceiling & back wall panel, gave just enough space to thread the wires out of the back of the box where they can be attached to the power supply.

I love the finished effect. I have fitted the hook & eye fasteners, so can now attach the shop front but still need to fit the door handle & all important shop bell!

Next steps….

  • Door furniture.
  • Varnishing the shop shelves…. 4 coats of mahogany varnish coming up!
